Print it Big!Posted by drfl on July 27th, 2009
The other night I was returning from a dinner with my family when I passed this billboard. It sports a Platte River photograph of mine (with a little change) that I captured a couple of years ago (see below). When I licensed the photograph a couple of months ago the marketing company wanted something that was very visible in Nebraska - the Platte River is something that most natives would recognize instantly. It turned out good - the marketing company apparently decided to flip the sky which may have worked better with the text. It’s always good to see your work printed big, and this is about as big as it gets and with tens of thousands of viewers per day!
This billboard can be seen off Interstate-80 in Omaha between the 60th street and 72nd street exits while traveling west. It’s on the left hand side.

Oh wow, that is so cool! Haha, that certainly is as big as it gets! They didn’t tell you it was for a billboard?

Amber, it’s the biggest I’ve ever seen my work! The marketing company did tell me it was a for a billboard, but I had spoke to them about 6 months ago and had put it in the back of my mind. I wasn’t even sure I would even see the billboard - and I have no idea how many more are out there, that when I saw it, it was kind of a surprise!
