That New Camera Smell!Posted by drfl on August 27th, 2009
I came across a post entitled “6 things you forgot to do when you first got your new dSLR“. There is some good information there. I only have a couple of things to add:
- Check the autofocus accuracy with all your lenses. This may seem time consuming and tedious, but in the end it is well worth it.
- Buy a second battery (or do this when you order the camera).
- Photocopy your registration card and make a note of the serial number. I save this information by scanning it into my hard drives and keeping all my serial numbers - lens, cameras, software, in a common folder.
- Breathe.

mmm love that smell! The first thing I did when I got my camera was buy a second battery. But I bought a knock-off brand and now it won’t hold a charge so I’m down to one battery. Guess there really is something to buying brand…

Amber, there really is something to be said for buying a quality product. I confess that I am fiercly brand loyal and when I find something that works and works well I stick with it. I can say when something lets me down, though, I let the world know.
Pramod, thanks for stopping by, thanks for the comments on my work.
