DeSoto Show a Success

I wanted to thank everyone who came out to see my work on display at DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge during the months of April and May.  I had the opportunity to speak to several individuals and I received some great comments.  I also want to thank the staff at DeSoto, they are very easy to work with and always make showing there a pleasure.  I look forward to adding to my work and showing new images in the future.

DeSoto Meet and Greet

For those of you in the eastern Nebraska/western Iowa area wishing to visit one of my showings, there is one going on right now at DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge.  As an added bonus I will be there on May 16th from 1 until 3pm discussing my photographs, techniques, etc. with anyone there.  Last year when I did this, I had some great conversations with people and it was especially rewarding for me to have people show interest in the process and ask questions about the experience.  If you have some time and are in the area, stop in and say hi and take a look around.

A little over a year ago, I was contacted to contribute some photographs to the Betty Strong Center in Sioux City, Iowa.  It is an addition to the Lewis and Clark Interpretive learning center for the public.  I hadn’t had the opportunity to make it up to see the display, butlast weekend my family and I made the journey north.  The center is very impressive, they have many learning opportunities for children and adults alike, and it is a beautiful structure.  The Betty Strong Center is a wonderful addition and features a gallery and auditorium to advance learning.  The hallway with the Missouri River display is well designed and visually appealing.  If you are ever in the Sioux City area, I strongly encourage a visit, I think you will find it worth the time.
